Dr. Alavi is an avid advocate of the work of Diana Schwarzbein, M.D., and endorses her 5-step program for metabolically and physiologically becoming healthy. With these principles in mind, and as determined by your personalized assessment, a customized nutritional program including appropriate supplementation will be recommended.

Determination of your protein and complex carbohydrate requirements will be made based on your current metabolism. These, of course, will be adjusted as your metabolism heals. We will provide guidance, recommendations, and resources to support your personal needs, particularly when food allergies or intolerances are an issue. Often allergies, inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract, or an imbalance of intestinal flora (bacteria and fungi), inadequate enzymes, or vitamin/mineral deficiencies interfere with optimal processing of food, absorption of nutrients, or excretion of toxic waste. If so, these situations must be addressed prior to effective response to a healthy diet or any supplementation.
