Need a lunch time refresher? BOTOX®Cosmetic and Dysport have become quite popular as an in and out lunch time procedure. Both helping many to feel and look younger, taking away those fury lines resting aside the brows. While one has become more of a household name, they are both equally competitive and demanded. They are essentially the same application, owned by two different companies. Preference varies by patient.

Dr. Alavi has used both BOTOX®Cosmetic and Dysport for quite some time now as part of her aesthetic practice and procedures. They are quite common not only as a corrective treatment but a preventive treatment. It has become a very popular in and out procedure to men and women wanting to look and feel younger, starting as early as their 20s and 30s.

Wrinkles result from a combination of many factors. It’s not just about cellular changes that can occur over time, reduction of collagen, or damage caused by free radicals in the sun and the environment. When you frown or concentrate, the muscles between your brows contract, causing your skin to furrow and fold. And when you squint, the muscles around your eyes contract and cause crow’s feet.

Using these non surgical injectables as a way of treatment, we can now address the underlying muscle activity that causes frown lines and crow’s feet. Both are leading brands within the industry, equal in demand depending on patient preference.

  • Frown/Focus Lines ( Between the Brows)
  • Crows feet ( Squint and Smile Lines along the Outer Eyes)
  • Expression Lines (Creases in the Forehead)

Both of the injectables, BOTOX®Cosmetic and Dysport, are made of a sterile Botulinum Toxin A. When injected, this prevents the contraction of muscles in the area of treatment. When injected into the area beneath he wrinkle, over the next few days the muscle becomes weaker and unable to contract, causes the skin atop to remain relaxed. This causes the wrinkle to soften or in some cases fully disappear, making the skin atop more smooth and youthful in appearance.

The entire procedure is usually an in and out, blocking out a 15 minute window. No anesthetic is required. Minor and temporary redness may appear at injection site. However, there is no downtime. You may resume your day as normal. We simply advise you remain upright 4 hours post treatment and refrain from exercise over the next day as well. This helps ensure the injection stays put in the intended areas. Results typically show within 24 to 48 hrs. and last up to 4 months. Depending on the individual and how they use their sense of expression and animation, along with activity level, there can be slight variation of treatment to treatment windows.
